Ashes at Sea

Has one of your family or relatives expressed a wish for their ashes to be scattered at sea?
Sea Rescue Adelaide is able to provide this service for you and your loved one.

We will provide a vessel and crew to take immediate family to a nearby location where we stop so that you can pay your last respects and to scatter the ashes. Following the service, a certificate is provided on which are recorded the personal details of the deceased and the GPS position of the Scattering.

The Squadron requests a donation for providing the service and suggest that an amount of $250 as appropriate. This donation is tax deductible.

The service can be arranged on any day of the weekend subject to our operational requirements, crew availability and prevailing weather conditions. Normally departure is from the boat launching facility at Barcoo Road, West Beach. A similar service is also available from our country locations at Wallaroo, Edithburgh and Wirrina.

We would be pleased to assist you in making the necessary arrangements for your family. Please contact our Ashes Co-ordinator via our Operations Centre on (08) 82955072 for further information.
