Edithburgh – Notified by member of public, a jetty pile was adrift in Edithburgh Bay. It was located and towed to safety to Edithburgh ramp where it was retieved.
Adelaide – Mobile phone call to radio base requested assistance for a boat 5km west of Stamford Grand hotel Glenelg. SR-02 towed boat to marina.
Copper Coast – Call was made to attend a vessel that had depleted its fuel supply west of Pt Hughes. The vessel was towed back to ramp without incident.
Adelaide – SR2690 reported another boat having difficulty starting motor. SR-03 towed vessel into West Beach marina
Wirrina – Victor Harbor Police requested SR-05 to assist Surf Life Saving at Normanville when sharks were sighted. On way SR-05 assisted boat in trouble and towed it back to marina.
Adelaide – Mobile phone call to base requested assistance for craft with motor failure south of Glenelg jetty. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Adelaide – Sea Rescue responded to a Pan Pan message from a 9m yacht that had lost steering in rough seas west of Henley Beach. SR-02 responded and towed it to Outer Harbor where Coast Guard continued the tow to Port.
Adelaide – Person reported body in water. Police requested search starting 3 miles west of beach southward to Brighton Jetty. After three legs of search Police stood crew down and returned to West Beach.
Adelaide – Vessel travelling south from West Beach had sudden motor failure and failed to restart. SR-02 towed vessel back to West Beach marina.
Adelaide – Vessel was 50m off beach approx. 1km south of Glenelg Jetty when motor failed to start. SR-02 towed it to West Beach marina.
Adelaide – Boat anchored 100m west of Marino could not start motor and called for assistance. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Edithburgh – Message received from vessel north of Edithburgh jetty with fuel problems and requiring assistance. Sea Rescue craft towed it to safety.
Adelaide – Call for assistance from disabled craft west of Hallett Cove. SR-02 towed it to O’Sullivan Beach.
Adelaide – Phone message requested assistance with motor problems situated approx 1km west of Brighton jetty. SR-02 towed it back to West Beach marina.
Adelaide – Motor of vessel located 1km west of Brighton jetty failed to start to return to ramp. Call to Sea Rescue resulted in tow back to marina by SR-02.
Adelaide – Call from a craft west of Willunga for assistance due to motor overheating and failing to restart. SR-01 alerted by Police re situation. Later message advised boat under way very slowly back to O’Sullivan Beach with SR-01 escort.
Adelaide – Craft called into base and reported a broken impeller and needing assistance. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Copper Coast – Call received from PWC disabled near Bird Island. Auxiliary craft Wenron towed vessel back to Wallaroo without incident.
Adelaide – Police advised of vessel aground at the cutting off Pt Grey in Port River and requested hovercraft to assist. SR Hovercraft eventually towed vessel off at high tide.
Adelaide – When 1km west of Seacliff engine alarm activated. Tried going back to marina but alarm activated again. SR-01 towed it back to marina.
Copper Coast – Owner called that motor in his recently serviced vessel had seized, and required assistance. SR-04 towed the vessel back to marina.
Adelaide – Search performed by Squadron craft with Police and SES for three persons of family overdue in 7m craft west of Cape Jaffa in SE. Persons were not found during search.
Adelaide – Vessel needing assistance approx. 500m offshore between West Beach and Glenelg with motor not starting. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Adelaide – Vessel broken down on beach 1km north of Brighton Jetty. SR-02 towed it off beach and back to marina.
Adelaide – Craft called for assistance due to drop in oil pressure on new Mercruiser motor. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Edithburgh – Vessel called in and reported flat battery. SR-06 towed it back to marina.
Adelaide – Craft in position just north of Brighton jetty requested assistance. SR-02 jump started boat and escorted it back to marina.
Adelaide – Member of public reported seeing an inflatable drifting near Brighton Jetty with no one aboard. SR-02 investigated and suspected dinghy to be owned by a sailing club and not anchored correctly. Sailing Club manager advised.
Copper Coast – Squadron received a call to report a 4 metre section of jetty pile floating about 500m off Port Hughes boat ramp. The boat Spectrum found the pile, towed it back to Port Hughes and beached it.
Copper Coast – Mobile phone call to base requesting assistance for a vessel approx. 1nm north of Port Hughes ramp. SR-04 towed it into marina.
Copper Coast – Vessel in trouble near Pt Riley had been blown on to rocks. SR-04 and auxiliary boat Jamo went and eventually put a towline to craft and pulled it off rocks. SR-04 then completed tow back to marina.
Adelaide – Vessel requested assistance from a position north northwest of Brighton jetty: motor wouldn’t start. SR-02 towed it into Seacliff Beach where owner paddled craft ashore.
Adelaide – Vessel requested assistance when electrical fault stopped the motor restarting. SR-02 towed the boat back to West Beach marina.
Wirrina – Buccaneer was broken down and anchored off Second Valley and required assistance. SR-05 towed vessel back to Wirrina.
Adelaide – Vessel was half way between Brighton and Glenelg when motor failed and would not restart. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Copper Coast – Phone call alerted Sea Rescue to a vessel in trouble approx 2.5nm south of Port Hughes jetty. SR-04 towed it back to Port Hughes ramp.
Adelaide – Vessel called and reported motor over heating and no power, and requesting assistance. SR-02 located boat 300 m west of Hallett Cove and towed it back to marina.
Copper Coast – Radio Operator heard a MAYDAY call and made several calls to establish identity and position of caller with no response. Flotilla Leader was contacted and Police advised. No further contact could be made and no other calls received.
Adelaide – Boat owner called radio base when he could not start motor after fishing interlude. SR-02 found craft 0.5nm west of Hallett Cove and towed back to ramp.
Edithburgh – Vessel called into Edithburgh to report the water impeller on motor had broken. SR-06 located craft in Coobowie Bay and towed it to Edithburgh ramp.
Edithburgh – Vessel between Hickey Point and Coobowie raised V sheet, wanting assistance. Police notified, who then passed onto SR Edithburgh to complete incident.
Adelaide – Vessel called in giving position 300m west of Hallett Cove beach with flat battery. SR-02 jump started vessel and vessel made way back under own power.
Edithburgh – Call to Sea Rescue from vessel unable to start motor. SR1928 launched at Pondalowie bay to assist. Located boat northwest of Royston Island and towed it to Pondalowie Bay.
Edithburgh – Phone call to Sea Rescue for assistance for a vessel situated off Troubridge Shoal. SR-06 towed the craft back to ramp.
Adelaide – Radio call from Police launch Investigator 2 regarding broken down PWC. SR-02 towed PWC back to marina.
Adelaide – Vessel was on beach and owner failed in attempt to refloat it. Surf 3 assisted and towed the vessel to deeper water where SR-02 took over the tow back to marina.
Wirrina – Phone call reported vessel incapacitated with no power, flat battery, 1.5nm south of Carrickalinga Beach. SR-05 used power pack and started motor of disabled vessel.
Copper Coast – Vessel requested assistance from a position 1.2km northwest of Wallaroo marina. SR-04 towed the boat back to ramp.
Adelaide – Message to base of craft requiring assistance from craft 6.6nm from O’Sullivan Beach. SR-02 jump started vessel and escorted it back to ramp.
Copper Coast – Vessel owner believed he had sufficient fuel for trip however he found he had indeed run out of fuel. SR-04 towed the boat to ramp.
Wirrina – Vessel reported that it was disabled due to motor failure: position was west of Rapid Head, 4.75nm southwest of Wirrina marina. SR-05 towed craft back to marina.
Adelaide – Call for assistance from a craft disabled 1nm west of Torrens outlet. SR-02 jump started vessel which returned under own power.
Edithburgh – Member of the public advised Sea Rescue that boat had broken mooring and was adrift out of Sultana Point. Craft was located and towed back to ramp for the owner to retrieve.
Wirrina – SAPOL advised SR-05 of yacht with damaged rudder and needing assistance. SR-05 towed yacht back to Wirrina for mooring.
Adelaide – Call made by mobile phone from craft west of Maslin Beach for assistance. SR-02 towed it to O’Sullivan Beach for retrieval.
Edithburgh – Vessel made call for assistance with broken water pump. SR-06 towed craft back to ramp.
Adelaide – Vessel broken down in entrance channel and anchored. Later towed back into the marina.
Wirrina – Vessel with motor trouble was 2nm south of Cape Hart. SR-05 left Wirrina at 17:30 and crossed the passage, located the craft and commenced towing at 19:00, arriving Cape Jervis at 20:10, and Wirrina at 20:45.
Adelaide – Requested to attend and investigate PWC travelling high speed among swimmers. Located PWC and advised him of dangers.
Adelaide – Base received phone call from craft Lauren with motor trouble. SR-02 towed disabled craft back to marina.
Adelaide – Vessel situated west of Grange jetty made a call for assistance via mobile phone due to flat battery. SR-02 used power pack to restart motor and escorted it back to West Beach marina.
Wirrina – Mobile phone call from yacht Toffee Apple regarding assistance with fuel and requesting a tow. SR-05 towed yacht into marina.
Copper Coast – Telephone call from a vessel in area reporting a 6m vessel needing assistance. SR-04 towed it back to marina.
Wirrina – Toffee Apple called: becalmed and could not start motor. SR-05 went to location stated but unable to find yacht. Later found vessel, jump started.
Wirrina – Sea Rescue Edithburgh relayed message from yacht Toffee Apple that vessel was taking in water west of Carrickalinga. Check of GPS coordinates showed yacht was off Aldinga Bay, at anchor. SR-05 towed yacht to Wirrina.
Edithburgh – Radio call on 27MHz requested assistance for a vessel with battery trouble in Coobowie Bay. SR-06 towed the craft back to Edithburgh ramp.
Adelaide – Small 4.2m vessel made phone call for assistance when owner could not start motor. SR-02 located boat 200m west of Moana Esplanade and towed it back to O’Sullivan Beach ramp.
Adelaide – Vessel west of West Beach marina made a call for assistance when motor failed to start. SR-02 towed it back to ramp.
Adelaide – Vessel called for assistance when motor would not start, 100m off Seaford, at anchor. SR-02 towed the craft back to O’Sullivan Beach ramp.
Adelaide – Vessel situated approx 2km west of West Beach ramp reported he was out of fuel and requiring assistance. SR-02 towed it back to marina.
Wirrina – SR-05 was requested to attend incident off Aldinga Beach where 9 year old child was swept out to sea on inflatable. During incident adult attempting to rescue child was drowned. Child was saved.
Adelaide – Phone call to Sea Rescue from Coast Guard informing us of small vessel west of Torrens outlet needing assistance. SR-02 towed it back to West Beach marina.
Copper Coast – Call to vessel aground at Point Riley earlier resulted in no action taken as it was still high and dry after two attempts to free it. Third attempt freed vessel and it was towed back to marina, with hull badly damaged.
Adelaide – Phone call from PWC that was stranded on sand bar 1km south of St Kilda playground. Hovercraft launched at Garden Island, but first attempt to free vessel failed. Eventually freed after tide rose.
Wirrina – Owner of yacht Vert-Galant under sail rounding Cape Jervis reported no electrics and prop damage and requested assistance. SR-05 towed it back to Wirrina.
Copper Coast – Sea Rescue was alerted to vessel with flat battery. SR-04 passed power pack to vessel. Motor started and vessel made own way back to marina under escort.
Adelaide – Vessel situated 1.5nm southwest of West Beach boat ramp was unable to start motor. Phone call was made to Sea Rescue for assistance and SR-03 towed vessel back to marina.
Wirrina – Mobile phone call was to report engine overheated and shut down west of Wirrina. SR-05 towed the craft back to Wirrina.
Wirrina – Call was made to Sea Rescue for assistance when vessel’s motor stopped and couldn’t restart. SR-05 towed vessel back to Wirrina.
Adelaide – Mobile phone call resulted in SR-02 being tasked to attend and tow craft from position west of West Beach marina back to retrieval.
