Our final donation, for our chosen 2018 Christmas Charity, totalled a pleasing $640.00.
Racheal Zalt
ron, who gave an informative address to our November 2018 General Meeting, has responded to our gift by stating, “Thank you for the amazing ongoing support we have received from the SA Sea Rescue Squadron, it never ceases to amaze us with the generosity of the members of your club”.
The child in the accompanying photo is testimony to the change in children they, and indirectly, we contribute to. From a position of some deprivation, this inspirational kid has been decked out by backpack4sakids and has responded with enthusiasm.
As a renewed eager beaver, he is now assisting the “angels” in the packing warehouse to ensure other kids receive the same pleasure. Much better than continually feeling unworthy. Moreover, he has brought along his immediate family to assist as well!
The potential to bring about long term positive change for youngsters is simply superb. It emphasizes the wonderful way backpack4sakids influences deprived children and we should be well satisfied by contributing. Assisting to overcome injustice for children is surely rewarding. Rachael also hopes we enjoy our contribution as much as they enjoy their care for such kids.
Rachael’s mission, assisted by her volunteers, tops up the institutional benefits, but is more exciting and better received. Their potential to refocus kids to a better direction, and with more confidence, is remark-able. They absolutely do make a difference. She deservedly should be recognized as an SA Treasure. She exemplifies the power of one.
This kid also has the potential to become a wonderful ambassador for this charity.
Permission to publish the photo of this little champion, in Searchlight, was willingly granted by his family.
